Freestall Rake Compost / Manure Model

With different types of bedding, it is important to pick the right rake for the job. Manure vs. sand are two completely different materials and act in 2 different ways. That is why we use 3 different rake tines on the manure bedding rake. We must cover the bottom of the beds with the one tine and break and fluff with the other tines. One is used for a curb guide and the outer ones have the easy job of just fluffing.

We have a full range of replacement parts for the rake arm or a completely assembled arm for easy repairs. You will find if taken care of, our rake arms last way longer than you would think. We have thousands of rakes at dairies all over the world. Through the years we have always been looking for better ways to do what we do better. Your comments drive us to be better.

The curb and lane scraper on the back is a very useful tool in keeping your bedding dry. Drier beds equal fewer bacteria and happier cows. Happy cows’ equal better production.

When you are ready to get a better system, please contact us to get your Dowdy’s Freestall Rake started.

Skid Steer Manure Freestall Rake

Our Skid Steer Rake is designed to give you the most maneuverability and best results in the manure freestall beds. We have included a front-mounted Curb and Lane Scraper to use as a guide and leveling devise for the Freestall Raking unit. Our hydraulic valves control the rate of speed the rake arm goes up and down. Saving a lot of wear and tear on the pivot points not to mention the safety factor. We have also included a loading platform to store the unit on, while not in use.

We continue to strive to make a better unit for you. Please give us a call when we can help you by providing a better place for your cows to make milk.

Rotary Bed Conditioner Tractor Mounted

The Dowdy’s Rotary Conditioner,
Is The Ultimate In Freestall Bed Conditioning.

You ask, what makes ours different? Many years ago, Botec made a traditional rototiller for the freestall beds. It was good for a depth of about 4” but to truly do a good job of keeping the bacteria away from the udder you must go deeper and dry deeper. Our conditioner goes to a depth of 8” where it counts. When you do this, another thing happens. The beds become so soft and inviting. The Cows want to spend more time in the beds making milk. Question? Isn’t that what freestall is all about? Why build a state of the art freestall barn and put a mediocre bed grooming tool in it for less money? Who is saving money that way? Our rotary conditioners are “Proven” in the dairies for performance and production. If you don’t believe what it will do? Buy one and after running it for 2 weeks faithfully, if it doesn’t work like I say. Tell us why and we will return it and refund your money. We always are stand behind our equipment. After 2 weeks, be prepared to be IMPRESSED.

Sand Freestall Rake Tractor Mounted

Dowdy's Sand Bedding Freestall Rake.

As you know, sand bedding is way different from compost or separated manure bedding. It is more like a liquid rather than a solid. We use a different arrangement of bed raking tines with sand beds and we also added a sand blade, as we call it. To carry the sand from stall to stall to fill the holes where the last cow was laying and digging herself in. The freestall rake folds up out of the way for traveling from section to section. There are a lot of options we can do if that works for you. Like twin rakes, one on each side of the tractor. You travel one way one day and the other way the next day. It helps to keep the bedding from building up in the last 2 stalls of the run. When you consider us for your next rake, please tell us what you have in mind and let us see how we can help you.

Freestall Rake 3 Point Hitch Mount

We build a very good Tractor 3 point hitch Rake.

So, if this is what you are interested in we have a lot of customers with them who have purchased more than one. It just seems to fit their operation.

Our 3 point rake has gauge wheels to set the height of the rake during use, which is real important for getting the beds done right. The rake arm is standard with the material you are raking, be it manure or sand. We build single units and we build Twin units with RH and LH arms on the same unit. They come with the standard 3 point curb and lane scraper. The uhmw guide block keeps the unit on track after you are in the beds. If you choose the twin rake, there is a possibility of a selector valve being needed if your tractor only has a single auxiliary valve. Most of our 3 point units are run on smaller tractors. Thus the need for the selector valve. All of our units have the same workmanship and quality built in. A simple unit for a simple need that works very well. When you are in the market. Think of us.
